ABOUT US

Sam forests is a sustainable, socially responsible forestry and would products company with the aim of mitigating climate change, conserving nature, increasing food security while producing wood products

SF aims to provide a living to local people often in the rural areas where employment is needed the most .

With our planned square mile mubende plantation project we hope to be the leading suppliers of logs to the many wood processing companies in Uganda, mitigate climate change as we help rural areas out of poverty.

Sam forests was founded in 2018 by Samuel biyinzika. And while we are still  a young company,we have provided a living to rural areas where employment and food are needed the most.

Since planting trees have proven to be the cheapest ways of taking CO2 out of the atmosphere to tackle the climate crisis and at the same time a lucrative and long term investment, SF will be able to invest in the future as we save nature, increase food security since trees take more than 20 years to mature.

Carbon offset projects management

Persistent global warming and increasing energy costs have clearly demonstrated one fact: Corporate sustainability is not a trend, but a necessity to remain competitive in the future. Reducing emissions and responsible carbon offsetting are crucial elements of an effective climate action strategy.

As Regulators, investors, employees, and customers are increasingly demanding responsibility of companies towards climate change, only businesses with no or Less emissions will have a competitive advantage. The need for carbon offsetting is no longer an option but a necessity to stay competitive in business. Carbon offsetting is one such way businesses can help to benefit the planet. Much has been made of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) in recent times. By being more aware of its role, a business can make decisions that aren’t simply based on financial reasons. And when businesses are seen to be more socially responsible, their customers, shareholders, and staff will approve too.

In other words, Carbon offsetting can be a real boost in terms of positive public relations, brand visibility, and market leadership.

Samforest Ltd can assist companies all over the world that want to reduce or offset their inevitable emissions. This will help investor companies to compensate for the emissions they cannot avoid. We implement and manage the project on behalf of the companies and the offsets are solery owned by the project funder. Tree plantations are very much encouraged locally and internationally. The project Implementers and the management team are experienced professionals who have built and managed plantations before.

WHY TREE PLANTING?

Forests are not only among the planet's most important carbon sinks, but they are also home to an enormous amount of species diversity and an important source of people’s livelihood. Global forest areas have declined sharply in recent decades due to increasing settlement, agricultural use, illegal logging, and mining.

Forest projects ensure that forests are preserved in the long term and that the protection of forests is given a higher value than deforestation.

Trees contribute to the environment by providing oxygen, improving air quality, climate amelioration, conserving water, preserving soil, and supporting wildlife. During the process of photosynthesis, trees take in carbon dioxide and produce the oxygen we breathe. According to the U.S. Department of Agriculture, “One acre of forest absorbs six tons of carbon dioxide and puts out four tons of oxygen. This is enough to meet the annual needs of 18 people.” Trees, shrubs, and turf also filter air by removing dust and absorbing other pollutants like carbon monoxide, sulfur dioxide, and nitrogen dioxide. After trees intercept unhealthy particles, rain washes them to the ground.

Trees control climate by moderating the effects of the sun, rain and wind. Leaves absorb and filter the sun’s radiant energy, keeping things cool in summer. Trees also preserve warmth by providing a screen from harsh wind. In addition to influencing wind speed and direction, they shield us from the downfall of rain, sleet and hail. Trees also lower the air temperature and reduce the heat intensity of the greenhouse effect by maintaining low levels of carbon dioxide.
